Dr. Lindsay Holman grew up around a dental office as her mom first worked as an assistant and then a dental hygienist at the office where her grandmother was the receptionist. At an early age, Dr. Lindsay equated the dental office with a welcoming, friendly, positive experience and as such, practices with the mindset of treating patients as family. She has a deep rooted compassion for people, with a love of dentistry that goes back generations. She mixes traditional care and compassion with the latest developments in biological dentistry in her own unique way.
Dr. Lindsay completed her training at the University of Michigan, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology, and her DDS at UM School of Dentistry. Dr. Lindsay developed an interest in clinical research while working in the Periodontics and Oral Medicine department and researching salivary diagnostics and regenerative stem cell medicine at the Michigan Center for Oral Health Research. Dr. Lindsay decided to pursue a Master of Science in Clinical Research and a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Science, Technology and Public Policy as part of the Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research predoctoral training program. During this training, Dr. Holman studied alongside pre-medical and public health students and realized the essential, yet inadequate multidisciplinary coordination of treatment within the healthcare system. Therefore, she explored development of an educational curriculum in oral health and craniofacial development for medical training programs as her Capstone Project in the School of Dentistry’s Scholars Program in Dental Leadership.
Developing an interest in nutrition as a teenager, Dr. Lindsay has continued her exploration into food as a healing mechanism through her training in Biological Dentistry. Dr. Lindsay has continued her training in Integrative Dental Medicine and Biological Dentistry by achieving Scholar status with the Dawson Academy, an institute that teaches the essential principles and skills for complete care with primary concentrations in airway and integrative dental medicine, dental occlusion (the bite), the temporomandibular joints (TMJs), and comprehensive esthetic dentistry. Dr. Holman has also attained Fellow Status with the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health demonstrating her commitment as a total health care practitioner. She is also a member of the ADA, MDA, IAOMT, International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine, and is certified in Ozone treatment, making her an excellent partner to Dr. Dobracki and an invaluable member of the team. She has a gentle nature that often helps put our patients at ease while dealing with complex dental issues all while being a true artist at her craft.
In her time away from dentistry, Dr. Lindsay can be found chasing around her two kids, Kieran and Adelaide, with her husband, Josh, and dog, Winston. Dr. Lindsay also enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, deepening her yoga study and practice, reading, and cheering for her Michigan Wolverines and Detroit Tigers.
